There are various reasons why people might like Halloween – from the trivial reasons to the more elaborate ones. Have you ever stopped to think about why you like Halloween? Or, if you are one of the people who hates the holiday, have you ever stopped to think about the reasons why other people like it? Some people tend to try and analyze each holiday far too much that they forget to just have fun with it. Well, here are some of the many reasons why people like Halloween and why you should, too.
For starters, Halloween is the one day out of the 365 days of the year, wherein people can let their imaginations and creativity run wild and make their dreams a reality. They can be whoever they want to be for a day. They can wear whatever they want to work. They get to see other people dress in something weird, cool or funky. And then, once the holiday is over and a new day or new year comes around, people get to talk about the memories when all of the Halloween madness happened.
Another reason to like Halloween is the candy that everybody gets to collect and eat for free. Of course, there are also people who end up shelling out money to give candy out to other people; but at the end of the day, everyone will end up with candy in their stomachs – and that’s a fact. Now, who wouldn’t be happy about that? After all, candy is one of the best comfort foods out there and when people scarf it down during Halloween, it won’t be frowned upon. Jackpot!
To some people, Halloween is about learning and discovering new things. When they meet somebody dressed in an unknown or unfamiliar costume, for example, they ask about it and find out something new. Some people discover new books, television shows, historical characters and movies this way, while others use costumes and decorations as a means to get to know other people better. When at a costume party for Halloween, costumes work as a great conversation starter, as well.
On that note, Halloween is one of the times of the year when Hollywood directors decide to come up with new horror flicks to scare people with in theaters. Even TV show directors end up coming up with Halloween-themed episodes to surprise their viewers with.
Kids, on the other hand, tend to enjoy Halloween because they get to sit at campfires and tell great ghost stories. They can also do this in the comforts of their own homes while hiding under a blanket with their siblings or friends. As for adults, it is the time of the year where they can throw awesome costume parties and show up in funny, scary, sexy or weird outfits. People get to compete at these parties, too, and they can turn out to be a battle of creativity and imagination for those who want to win the best-dressed prizes. Seriously: how can anyone not like Halloween?
